Keyworking

When someone starts coming to The Edge, they will often see one worker as a main contact. This worker will often become that young person's keyworker. What this basically means, is that that one worker will be the main point of contact for that young person. They will arrange all their appointments through that person, and will normally see them when they come to The Edge. Sometimes, a young person will access many different things on offer at The Edge, and will have to see other people apart form the keyworker, but it will be the keyworker who will co-ordinate all these other appointments and will make sure that everything is going smoothly.

Another part of the keyworker's role, is to help with basic "life" skills if needs be. This can be things like helping with shopping and maybe looking at healthier eating. Or maybe helping to apply for jobs, claim benefits or sort out housing. It could also be helping to look at budgeting. We've even been known to help clean houses!!
